In one of the previous blogs (sex and religion) I stated that the compass and square (above) on one level….represents sex…..the compass being the male principle…and the square below being the female principle.
The compass (the male) on top of the female (represented by the square) with her legs wide apart.
However symbols have layers upon layers of meanings,so let’s have a look at the symbol to see if there is anything else hidden in plain sight
Let’s focus on the letter “G”…..representing “Generation” or “GAOTU”
Could the seven planets be represented by the letter “G”……yes!
And the clue to revealing it is in a system known to the esoteric schools as Gematria
Particularly “English Gematria” in this case.
And what is Gematria exactly?…….well it is to do with linking each letter to a number.
For instance….A is the first letter of the alphabet…so therefore has a numerical value of…1
Now what number would the letter “G” relate to?
Well the letter “G” relates to the number 7…it is the seventh letter of the English alphabet.
And the number 7 is the number of the classical planets…the seven planets
Below shows someone with the number 7 replacing the letter “G” in the compass and square on his t-shirt.
It can also stand for the number three in Hebrew Gematria…as the letter “Gimel” is the third letter of the Hebrew alphabet …and “Gamma” in the Greek alphabet……symbols can have layer upon layer of meaning.
Why am I telling you this about Gematria?…..because in a later blog we will be looking at the tetragrammaton (YHVH) and its link to the number 26.
Here is a freemason talking about symbols and their layers…..also how symbols link to each other….and if you read carefully…you should find the 26 in there somewhere.
And now to this blog …the number four and the square……
In freemasonry a mason can be called a “square-man”…or are said to be “on the square”
On masonic rings you can see the “square on point.”
Why the square on point?…..well one explanation of the square on point is that it represents the four cardinal points of the zodiac.
What are the four cardinal points of the zodiac?…..well…as I started writing this blog today we are at one of the four “points”…….the summer solstice
The four points are…. the spring equinox(aries),the summer solstice(cancer),the autumnal equinox(libra) and the winter solstice(capricorn)
They represent the four seasons, spring, summer, autumn and winter
Again…..Aries is a fire sign…..A CARDINAL FIRE sign…..it is the gateway to 3 months of spring
Capricorn is the CARDINAL EARTH sign…the gateway to the three months of winter
Libra is the CARDINAL AIR sign…gateway to the three months of autumn
Cancer is the CARDINAL WATER sign….and start of the three months of summer
The number four is throughout the bible
For instance…is it another coincidence that on the FOURTH DAY….God made the luminaries that give us our signs and SEASONS….(again there are four seasons)
14 Then God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years;and let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth”; and it was so. 16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also. 17 God placed them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth, 18 and to govern the day and the night, and to separate the light from the darkness; and God saw that it was good. 19 There was evening and there was morning, a fourth day.
Four means foundation…it gives a platform on which things can be built
Can this also be the reason why when students graduate they wear a “mortar board?”
We also saw in an earlier blog that saturn teaches us lessons…saturns colour is black…and could this be why students wear black robes also?
The “square” of the year is the four seasons.
Our year has four seasons…spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The “square” of the day is….morning, afternoon, evening and night.
Also…spring is the morning of the year (dawn to midday)
summer is the afternoon of the year (midday to evening)
these two seasons are the “male” part of the year…the light!
Autumn is the evening of the year (evening to midnight)
Winter is the night of the year (midnight to dawn)
These two seasons are the “female” part of the year…..the darkness!
The four continues in the bible……the river that ran through Eden parted into four rivers
The Pishon,Gihon,Hiddekel and the Euphrates
10 A river watering the garden flowed from Eden; from there it was separated into four headwaters. 11 The name of the first is the Pishon; it winds through the entire land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 (The gold of that land is good; aromatic resin and onyx are also there.) 13 The name of the second river is the Gihon; it winds through the entire land of Cush.14 The name of the third river is the Tigris; it runs along the east side of Ashur. And the fourth river is the Euphrates.
Notice how one thing parts into four?
The year (one) into four seasons
The day (one) into four quarters
The Edenic river (one) into four parts.
The “ONE” God (deity/”day”ity) represented by the four letters…the Tetragrammaton!
Below is a diagram showing what each of the four letters represent.
The new testament (one) has four gospels
Talking about the new testament……….
When Jesus dies his garments were divided into how many parts?
When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
Remember Jesus is the sun and the four parts of his “garment” are the four seasons
Why the four?
Lon Milo Duquette says that to understand what “God” is…..”The One”…..is a difficult concept to get your mind around…..looked at as one thing,it is hard to make comparisons or to grasp what the “oneness” or “God” is.
We can divide the one into two to get some idea of what “the one ” is…and that is the polarity…duality.
Male and female
Good and evil
Light and darkness
We grasp that concept well.It helps us compare and contrast things.
“And the LORD God said, “The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil.”
However when we divide it further into “four-ness” we can start to examine things and compare and contrast what the “oneness” is,in even more depth.
That is why God’s name is divided into four letters….the Tetragrammaton.
It is to help us in our understanding of what is going on!
Again that is why there are four gospel accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry….
Each of them emphasizes a unique aspect of his sacrifice and ministry. Matthew’s focus is on Christ being the son of David and a King. Mark highlights the suffering servant aspect of his ministry. John proclaims Jesus is the One and Only begotten Son of God. And Luke showcases him as the Perfect Man.
Again Lon Milo Duquette tells us that the Hebrew kabbalah divides the human soul into four parts that reflect…on a microcosmic level…universal levels of consciousness and being that correspond to the four letters of the Tetragrammaton…Yod,He,Vav,He
The four suits of the tarot represent the same thing
Wands,swords,Cups and Disks
Also matter (one) splits into the four elements of the ancients…fire, water, air and earth.
The four parts of the soul and their correspondences are:-
Chiah…the life force…the highest part of the human soul, which corresponds to the Yod of the tetragrammaton, the element of Fire, the suit of Wands in the tarot, and the level of Atziluth in the tree of life.
Neshamah….the second highest part of the human soul, which corresponds to the first Heh of the tetragrammaton, the element of Water, the suit of Cups in the tarot, and the level of Briah in the kabbalistic tree of life.
Ruach…the next level, corresponds with Vav in the tetragrammaton, the element of Air in the four elements, the suit of Swords in the tarot, and the level of Yetzirah in the kabbalistic tree of life.
Nefesh….is the lowest part of the soul, the animal part of the soul and it corresponds with the final Heh in the tetragrammaton, the element of Earth in the four elements, the Disks,Coins or Pentacles in the tarot, any of those three can be used to represent the same suit…and also the level of Assiah in the kabbalistic tree of life.
Again as with all other religious or spiritual ideas and concepts, they are represented by all cultures with different symbols and ideas, although representing the same idea,it is the spectrum…they are saying the same thing from a differing perspective.
An example…..if a bus crashed…….two people at opposite sides of the road would describe the same scene differently from differing viewpoints…even though describing the same thing
One may say the advertising board on the bus was a cereal advert…and the person on the opposite side of the road would say it was an advert for coffee…when both can be correct…although differing.
Everyone sees the same thing through their own lens…and this applies to cultures and these esoteric concepts.
This is why the Jewish people represent the “fourness” as the four letters…. tetragrammaton
Ezekiel saw the four as a chariot (merkabah) with the four living creatures….man, bull, lion and eagle
The Greeks had the “Animoi”…….Boreas,Zephyrus,Notos,Eurus
Kabbalah has…….the four worlds!
In Norse mythology….the four stags of the yggdrasil tree
Dáinn, Dvalinn, Duneyrr and Duraþrór
Also in Norse mythology the four dwarves
Norðri, Suðri, Austri and Vestri
Or the Four Heavenly Kings of Buddhism and the East
And elsewhere in the world….the Mayans had the four brothers…or the Bacab
In Rome we have the Quadriga…the Chariot of the Gods
In Egypt…the Four Sons of Horus
The Lamassu of the Assyrians which you will have seen in the earlier blogs
This is why we have the four corners of the world
And this is also why the fourth album from the amazing led zeppelin was called four symbols
If you think I’m stretching it…..Jimmy Page (guitarist supreme) understands this knowledge very well I would assume.
He used to own an occult bookstore called “equinox”
And Jimmy Page once owned Boleskine house…former home of Aleister Crowley.
Could this understanding of the “fourness” be why the Qur’an allows a man (the fifth element/spirit) to have four wives….the four elements?
the four elements represent matter as stated before………..matter is where the word mother/mater/ma/matrix/meat comes from.
also the Egyptian Goddess Ma’at
notice she is concerned with justice and weighing on the scales?…..this corresponds to the sign of libra……the start of the autumn/winter part of the zodiacal cycle…the female half of the year…..the dark part of the year….the dying part of the year……all growth stops at this part of the cycle
Do you remember in a previous blog I said that spring and summer were allegorically the sun orgasming his rays/sperm/life activating forces over the earth
Well at this part of the year the orgasming sun rays are stopping….this is why an orgasm is called in French “la petite mort”…”the little death”
The good times are at an end!…your five seconds of summer are over!
The scorpion of scorpio just backstabbed you…and is it a coincidence that scorpio is linked to the genitals in the zodiac of the body?
Just as the tide comes in and moves out…….everything has this tidal movement
From blinking…we move from dark to light and back again.
We sleep and awaken.
we rise vertically during the day (male principle) and rest horizontally at night (female principle)
summer to winter……light to dark
good times, bad times…isn’t that another led zeppelin song?….he he
all nature has this constant movement and rhythm
In the book of Daniel chapter 7 can you remember how many beasts he saw in vision?
Yet again it is the four
In effect then……all religions are arguing and fighting over nothing, each religion sees the same thing from different angles and expresses it in their own cultural way!
No religion is the right religion…….they all have a little piece of the same thing.
“A little piece of blue sky”
It is when you bring the wholeness into oneself….then you awaken…and the knowledge will bubble up inside your own self like a never ending fountain as you see everything connecting…….everywhere…when you start to see the patterns and gain more understanding.
You will never need to go anywhere outside yourself to get water or refreshment…no religion or person outside yourself can give this knowing..it will come from inside you!
When the pupil is ready….the teacher will appear!
However it takes real effort, struggle and sacrifice to attain it
“Keep on struggling to enter through the narrow door, because I tell you that many people will try to enter, but won’t be able to do so.”
It is a paradigm shift…..a change of consciousness…an awakening…….a renaissance…..a new birth.
9 The Samaritan woman said to him, “You are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman. How can you ask me for a drink?” (For Jews do not associate with Samaritans.[a])
10 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his livestock?”
13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
This inherent understanding of the “fourness” is why we also have
four horsemen of the apocalypse
Also in revelation…Jesus represents the light part of the zodiac….the lamb who is worthy to open the scrolls…. The lamb = Aries (cardinal fire) ….or the lion of the tribe of Judah….Leo… (Leo is fixed fire)…two zodiacal fire signs…connected with the sun and light.
Revelation 5:5 and 6
Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”
Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.
What do “cardinal fire”…”fixed fire”….”mutable fire” mean?
Lon Milo Duquette explained it one time and used the element of fire to illustrate.
He said a cardinal fire sign is the sign that bursts out suddenly and says….”Hi I’m Fire” like a jack in the box…and punches you on the nose while introducing itself……think of a match igniting and all it’s energy
He then says that fixed fire is the fire that is fully established…..or as Mr Duquette explains….if you looked at a picture of fire in an encyclopedia…..it would have a picture of the fixed fire there…the match fully lit….or a “roaring” fire.
Then he says the mutable sign is the fire dying…or as lon milo says….”yeah…I’m fire…but I’m flexible….whatever…(shrugs)”….or like the match about to extinguish
These are what the cardinal, fixed and mutable signs mean.
Now hopefully you will be seeing the patterns and the zodiac….once hidden right in front of your eyes coming to light as you grasp these patterns within yourself
Back to the “fourness” again.
The four horses of apollo
Four Cardinal Directions
The Cross in all its forms with its four parts
And the corner stone…a corner is the angle where two sides meet….see compass and square above…see also two equinoxes, dark and light meet…..it brings wholeness, equilibrium…hence the equinoxes…and isn’t one of the equinoxes in libra?
Isn’t the word libra hidden in equilibrium?
Also “equilibrium” means “when two forces meet and are balanced”
And it just so happens that the symbol for libra is the balances…the scales
Astrology is the key to everything that is going on in nature, and it is the key to understanding religion.
However it is hidden just under the surface to most folks, and they will never see it.
If I could offer any advice at all to anyone…..it would be learn the 12 signs of the zodiac and where they are in relation to the yearly cycle…and learn the seven planets and in which zodiacal house they rule….and slowly like a jigsaw puzzle…you will start to see the picture emerge.
Usually when you start a jigsaw…first you find the four corners…then the edges…then it starts to take shape!
When I was a Jehovah’s witness,I used to laugh at the ancients thinking that a turtle held up the world….well the last laugh is on me….not knowing that the ancients were symbolizing the “fourness” in nature ….and the ever changing world which moves very slowly…and also the stability and foundation of the earth.
four turtles or/and an elephants holding up the world=4 cardinal points, four elements
As said in one of the first blogs….The four states of matter
four fundamental forces of physics
strong nuclear force=fire
weak nuclear force=air
(these are the two masculine principles of the four elements)
symbolized by the upright triangle
water and earth are the two female principles symbolized by the downward facing triangles
Four main blood groups
A, B, AB and O
Four nucleotides in DNA
Aren’t the four nucleotides the building blocks of life…the platform?
Also the four beats in music
Aren’t the four beats the platform (mortar board) in which to build your song structure?
In chemistry…the four building blocks of our body are CHON
Remember there is also a fifth element…ether……the fifth element is the activator
It is the quintessence…again quint meaning five….and the essence
There are five platonic solids that correspond to the five elements
Four decks of cards…..etc etc
In the world of numbers we have the four also….add, subtract, multiply, divide
So when ezekiel and john described the four living creatures…they were telling us about this ancient hidden knowledge.
It was a knowledge or a knowing of the forces of nature put into poetry, allegory, myth and scripture to be hidden to the profane or those with no interest……and yet be there for those who want to seek and find it.
Well that’s this blog done……please share if you can.
Thanks for reading!
